Free Motion Friday - Merran's Quilt

Happy Friday!

I've been on a FMF roll this week over on Patreon -   7 quilt in 7 days. So if you're looking for more content, definitely head over there and take a look.

Today, we have Merran's quilt.

I'm on a FMF roll at the moment. So here we go with Merran's quilt!

In the centre block I've done continuous curve in the triangles, some echoed straight lines in the background & on point square in the middle of the block. Then, I've aimed for the centre of the circles in the centre rings. I've also done a straight line down the centre of the yellow/green sashing.

In the next border, I've quilted on-point squares floating behind each of the flowers. Echoed this square 1/4", then filled the inside with a dense fill (probably swirls :D) and piano key border outside.

For the next border I've done more continuous curve in the basket, and then used the vines of the appliquéd flowers as a spine for feathers mixed with some quilted leaves.

Here is that design quilted out. I have had major love for this lately :D

In the churn dash border, I've simply added a piano key border going in behind the churn dashes.

The next border I've filled with continuous curve. This is one of my favourite designs to quilt in this type of border -- I think it looks awesome.

Also, notice I've been continuing the straight line down the centre of the yellow sashings.

And in the last border I've stuck with that theme, and have straight lines down the centres of each of the squares created in these log cabin blocks.

Here is a quick image of the whole thing all together! I think it's going to look awesome!

If you'd like your quilt to be a part of FMF, email a picture of it to kathleen(at)kathleenquilts.com

Later days! Kathleen.
