New Furniture for Kathleen!

I GOT NEW FURNITURE!!  Best ever, I finally have places to sew without having to pack it up to use the computer or table, or to cook food, or anything else... so excited....

And by covering up the cutting board, it can also be a table! Plus, my ironing board gets a permanent home, and my fabric gets to go in real life drawers instead of under the futon...

Oh, my pretty fabric stash... no longer homeless...

And best of all, a sewing table that is ONLY a sewing table. Plus, storage for my various quilting supplies... Win!

So that is my new sewing abilities. I love it so much! I spent yesterday afternoon and this evening quilting on it, and I have been amazed by how much of a difference it has made. I am so excited to keep sewing on it!

I finished my silk quilt in record time, using this new fancy sewing set-up! It turned out pretty well. I'm not ecstatic, but I'm pretty happy with it. I think that it will look a lot better when I get it quilted- I'm going to do feathers and McTavishing I think. It should be awesome.

At any rate, this means.. tomorrow it is off to the quilting store! Yay! I'm thinking about doing something with Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Quilters Dream just got in a bunch so that is the plan... though my plans tend to change. I'm also considering doing an Aardvark Quilts pattern "Borealis"
