Safari Moon Aviatrix Medallion
More of my Sample Spree Fabric -- Safari Moon. Safari Moon was the one fabric line on my shopping list that I ended up buying. And I love it. SOOO much. Just sayin. I spent a while trying to figure out what to make while at market, and then the last morning, after market was over, I woke up knowing exactly what to make. I was sharing a hotel room with Marilyn, who probably thought it was a bit weird that the first thing I did when I woke up was roll over and grab my bag of fabric (which I had conveniently kept right next to my bed just for emergencies such as this) and started pulling fabric to see if it would work for...
I ended up making the Aviatrix medallion. Which was a pattern I wasn't particularly excited about when I first saw it, but it slowly grew on me. With each round that I made I was afraid that THIS would be the round that ruined the quilt... but luckily for me, that round never came.
I ended up quilting it on mom's machine, as it was too big for my frame.
I ended up not being super happy with how the quilting turned out. I mean, it's OK, but just not really anything special. The stitch regulator on mom's machine wasn't working quite right, and so when I stopped it didn't, which completely threw me off my game. Mom apparently hadn't even noticed anything was wrong, so it is apparently what you get used to. Plus, maybe just me. But I found it very annoying :D So that is what I blame for the lackluster quilting on this one.
Anyways, later days!
