Free Motion Friday - Skopelos Tiles

Since yesterday was the Skopelos Blog Hop here, I thought today I'd show you how I did the quilting on my Skopelos Tiles Quilt!

Last week I talked about how I approach quilting-- starting by finding shapes in the piecing.

So I decided to work with this square.

I started with a row of pebbles,

Then, a row of filler,

Then, my favourite, feathers & Kathleen's Magical Shape

Center block's all finished!

Here it is all over the rest of the quilt.

In the outer border, straight lines.

Then, (look at the top left block) I have lines going in a square around the light fabric

That I then filled with bubbles and more feathers. In the center squares of each block I did a simple maze design.

Then, bubbles in the solid around the center

And more feathers in the solid triangles.

With a back and forth design in the printed triangles.
