Free Motion Friday - Ghost Plus

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! It's a particularly good Friday for me, as today is the day I leave for vacation! 3 weeks in Finland, Sweden & Norway!

Today, the Ghost Plus.

These are the Plus Signs I quilted into Pat's quilt. They were so much fun to quilt, I thought I'd share :D

Start with a plus. On Pat's quilt I could simply use the squares pieced into the quilt to mark the  plus, but if you're doing this on full nothingness, then you'd have to mark this in.

Then, a "X" in the center

then, I marked the center line (pink lines) both vertically and horizontally. Then, I'd use those lines to quilt the chevrons (black lines).

Which I would then continue into the rest of the Plus.

Then I'd fill in every other section with back and forth lines, or a different dense fill.  I don't want two sections of dense touching each other, or two sections of unfilled.

Then, I add an echo around the outside to make it pop!
