Toni’s “A Gathering” Quilt
I finished quilting Toni’s quail quilt this week, and like seriously I am so happy with it.
Feathers, swirls, and straight lines, what more could I want?
I marked the spines of the feathers before I loaded the quilt to make sure they flowed through the quilt and were spaced the way I wanted. I love how they spill into the border, it makes me very happy. Having something unexpected like that is fun sometimes.
The main background of the quails is one I like to call “swirl soup” and is just a bunch of different swirls and a few other designs all thrown together to make magic.
I love the texture that it creates— not only is it fun to quilt as I’m not getting bored by the same thing over and over and over again, but the difference in texture is just what this quilt needed.
Life this week was a little nutty, between kiddos, dance season staring up again, my teaching schedule, and work, I’m glad it’s the weekend :P We’re celebrating Thanksgiving 3 weeks early, so tomorrow, with my cousins and their families, so it will be a good one.
Later days!
Kathleen.
