Rather than re-creating tutorials, handouts & video’s for techniques that I learned from sources that already exist, I’m pointing you in the direction of the sources I use.

Each day I will provide a quick overview of the techniques I used for each block, alternate techniques you could use, and any helpful tips and trick I found along the way. I’ll also provide links to helpful tutorials and video’s for the techniques I recommend.

You will also have access to help from me via email at any point, so if you are stuck on a block, need some extra help, or just want to say “LOOK WHAT I MADE” I am here to cheer you on.

In the dedicated Facebook group, you will be able to not only be cheered on by me, but by a group of others working on the same project as you, who may have other helpful tips and techniques I haven’t though of.

Every day starting September 1, you’ll get access to information for making, collected and explained by Kathleen.

As soon as you sign up you’ll have access to the introductory lessons, filmed and created by Kathleen. We’ll talk about how to choose fabrics, and how to navigate the book an software. We’ll talk about what supplies you need for your quilt. and you’ll get a handout with a bunch of quilt math already done for you.

You'll definitely get more out of this class with a basic knowledge of how to use a rotary cutter and how to sew a ¼" seam. This is probably not a “first quilt” project. Knowing how to make a half square triangle, a flying goose, and an understanding of the logic of quilting will make this quilt a lot more fun.

We'll talk about specific tools & fabric requirements inside the class (though think lots of fabric, and all the basic sewing supplies).

You will need a copy of EQ8 + the Dear Jane add on for this class. I also recommend the Dear Jane book by Brenda Manges Papadakis. 

We'll be talking extensively about how to use the software to print templates for all types of techniques. Its going to make your life just way better-- this quilt is enough work without adding extra to it. If you feel comfortable creating your own templates for foundation paper piecing, applique, template piecing and more from the line drawings in the book you can probably get away without the software, but we will not be covering any of these techniques in this class. 

Rotary cutting instructions, templates, etc. Either the Dear Jane book or EQ8 software is required to make this quilt and participate in the class.

I also won’t be filming content each day for each block. Rather, I’ll be pointing you in the direction of someone else who can help!
