Free Motion Friday - Birgit's Quilt
Happy Friday! I got to spend all of yesterday quilting, so today I'm all set for another two days of work :D
Today we've got Birgit's quilt. Those borders! There is nothing I love so much as a large open border :D Or any other space for that matter.
So , to start. I echoed the inside of each of the flowers.
Then filled the light blue space with a fairly dense loop. I've been really enjoying these loops lately, as a less boring alternative to just straight lines all the time when I'm looking for something dense.
Then, inside the flowers, some continuous curve.
And more continuous curve in the medium blue flowers. The continuous curve looks a bit wonky drawn out here, but makes a really great texture when it's stiched out.
Then, some straight lines in the navy blue areas. Then, two options for borders. The more traditional feathered border, or the funkier border where I have repeated the quilting from the inside of the quilt onto the outside of the quilt.
Anyway, that's it for me! Remember, if you want your quilt to be a part of Free Motion Friday (and you know you do!) send a picture of it kathleen(at)kathleenquilts.com
Later days! Kathleen.
