Art Gallery Fabrics Quilts
Apparently it has been more than two months since my last blog post... sigh. I have been insanely busy since then though... I got married, I've been on holidays, quilting retreats, work trips... it's been crazy. So I don't feel to bad. I got a bunch of Art Gallery quilts finished up last month -- starting with two quilts from Indian Summer, one in each colour way.
I like them both just fine, though they are nothing special. The one I am really happy with is this one.
I've been wanting to do a full dresden plate quilt since I made those placemats in England (See blog here). And I absolutely love it. Not only are the blocks great, I really out did myself on the quilting if I don't say so myself. I've been trying to figure out how to do all over feathers for a while, and finally figured it out. I added a few of my favourite fillers in some places to add a bit of interest, plus to make my life easier as I didn't have to get the feathers to go absolutely everywhere.
I absolutely love it. I used two layers of batting again (one layer 80% cotton, one layer fluffy polyester) so the quilting really stands out. I could go on about how much I love this quilt all day, but I'm sure you have better things to do.
I've been quilting some store samples that I don't have pictures of, plus I finished up 5 quilt tops at the retreat I was at this weekend, so stay tuned for far to many quilt pictures.
Later days, Kathleen.
