QuiltCon 2017!!!
I just got back from QuiltCon late last night!
Here I am on Friday morning before my classes. It was so nice to be somewhere warm!
It was crazy seeing my name on the same sign as Natalia and Angela! They are two quilters that I've looked up to for a long time, and to be teaching in the same classes as them was surreal. I had the most fun teaching though, and it was so great to get to meet so many people I've seen online. Hopefully they'll have me back next year!
I wont lie, possibly the highlight of the entire show was when Kat brought me these chips. I fell in love with them when I was in Australia last year, and have been lamenting the fact that they are not available in Canada. (A different brand makes the same flavour, but they are not the same). So when Kat was flying from Australia, I begged her to bring me some - and I got three full bags!!! ... plus I got to see Kat...
I have come home excited about quilting (and even piecing) again. I've decided to cut back a little on the custom quilting I've been doing to focus more on making some of my own projects. For the moment anyway. I'm forever changing my mind about what I want to do with my life :D
I really enjoyed the show this year -- I think it was the best ever. I walked through the show, and could just barely breathe looking at all the amazing quilts. Plus, Kat won the best of show, which meant that I got a lot of use out of the sentence "My friend Kat." I loved so many of the quilts.
Plus, I got to catch up with some old friends, which was just wonderful. I love QuiltCon like you wouldn't believe, and can't wait for next year!
Later days, Kathleen.
